New workplace

Went to my new workplace today
at Jurong point area after a brief discussion
with Jace.
Yesh, we wld be working together at the same centre
this time round. Jace were informed that both
of us will be taking the tods class together as form tchs..
We were sharing and both of us were kind of excited,
delegating roles, sharing ideas and
what we plan to do, the lessons etc.. All the fun and new
things that we can do together..
Big ideas = '0' (nothing)
After we went to the centre, we were
told tt we wld be only assistant tchs and we
were not even be in the same class :(
Hopes dashed..
But.....
I fell in love with the place the moment I entered.
I'm serious..
Why? It looks like Caterpillar's Cove but BIGGER,
spacious, vibrant etc.. most importantly,
its AIR-CONDITIONED! hahas
not just that...
Personally, I felt that new centres are always conducive to work in
because - they have better staff-child ratio,
interesting and new materials, friendlier environment etc etc..
It's like, we can totally apply what we learnt as the most appropriate
teaching practices without ppl questioning you, unlike existing centres
that have not-that-friendly-staff who wld question yr
practices and disagree with you..
New centres smell fresh and exciting to me.. hahas..
Oh, not to mention, we have our seniors from Wheelock College, Singapore who
are also working there :)
Anyway what makes this centre different and interesting is,
it adopts the
Reggio Emilia's Project approach as an integrated curriculum
in the school. Tons of recycled materials that chn can work on.. :D
(If only our research topic was on project based approach or
the 3Rs concept) tsk tsk
In my typical shift, I'll be moving ard alot..
I'll be with the toddlers on some days (the main tch is our senior
and she's very nice:)); I'll also be in the INFANTS (*grasp*) class and the
N1 class..
For our research we were be working with the N2s..
After a few weeks, I will prob be very familiar with
the environment and all the chn!
The first impression of the centre was a pretty good
one. Furthermore, the principal is very supportive and
approachable.... ehs, very truthful and helpful too..
Anyway she has also delegated us to be
in-charge of the concert.. woooo~
sounds exciting!! omg..
I think I'm going to enjoy working there :)
But definitely not carrying out our research there
due to many unforeseen circumstances..

Mixed feelings,
if only we dont have to carry out the research..
If I have shifted house earlier,
this particular centre wld be directly opposite my place..
hahahas....
hmmm..
I'm so exited, looking forward to Monday
when I start work :)
